DJ Adamson Talks Book Covers

Karen Phillips designs my covers.

With the first Lillian Dove Mystery, the cover conveyed the plot.  Yet, for Suppose, the second in the series, a plot-designed cover seemed wrong since the books have defined themes.  I wanted a cover that echoed the title of the book.  I think Karen and I succeeded in that goal. When you see a chair in the dark in a corner, you immediately wonder..Huh?

I have concept skills but no designing talents.  I choose the photo and then Karen goes to work.  The photo we selected is the one we both like.  It’s always a team effort.
