❀Book Cover Review❀ ON THIS CHRISTMAS, I THEE WED BY VIRGINIA BARLOW #BookCoverReview

I can't wait to show you this cover. This is a historical holiday romance titled On This Christmas, I Thee Wed by a talented author, Virginia Barlow. Just in time for Christmas gift giving!

Is this cover absolutely yummy or what? Virginia Barlow always has such beautiful covers on her books thanks to The Wild Rose Press. What a perfect cover for a holiday historical romance too! Love the title's font and the guy I'm presuming is the Duke of Chauncy? Again, yummy. Yet alluring. Real Duke like.

Here's what the book is about:

Bartered to Viscount Hudson Becker by her father, Lady Lavinia Holbrook escapes her arranged marriage and travels to her Godmother, the Duchess of Chauncy to seek asylum. Determined to put men and marriage behind her, she is unprepared for the duke’s interest or his heated kisses.

The Duke of Chauncy believes love is a weakness and refuses to take a bride despite his mother’s scheming. When the duchess makes a wager he will marry by Christmas, he considers the matter a lark. Until Lavinia gets under his skin, and he rethinks his position on love and happy ever afters.

On This Christmas I Thee Wed is available through these fine retailers…

❀Book Cover Review❀ LATER BY COLETTE R. HARRELL #BookCoverReview

I can't wait to show you this cover. This is a historical fiction / interracial / supernatural / paranormal fiction titled Later by a talented author, Colette R. Harrell.

Simply a stunning cover!

In 1859, Junie Benson was a twelve-year-old genius and enslaved. His older sister, Sari, had her own difficulties, including being auctioned to the highest bidder. She was also beautiful, flighty, and had a repetitive dream about a hazel-eyed white stranger.

Everybody with the good sense God had given them knew even her dream was forbidden.

In the present, three things troubled ex-Special Forces Lt. Colonel Zachary Trumble . . . his new job as director of security for Burstein Labs, his loveless marriage, and the green-eyed siren who won’t let him sleep in peace.

Then time’s fickle hand brewed a recipe for a miracle . . . Stir in three runaway slaves, an avalanche, one mad scientist, and an unhappy, in-love hero to create a dish for revenge best served . . . Later.

To me, this looks like two lovers descending upon heaven. I'm sure I'm way off key, lol.  It truly is a remarkable cover, though. I love the colors and can't find anything to negatively critique it about. At first, the cover says to me it's a fantasy and I don't see fantasy in the description, but all in all this is one beautiful cover.

❀Book Cover Review❀ I AM NOT BRAD PITT AND OTHER STORIES BY ROSS DREIBLATT #BookCoverReview

I haven't done a book review cover for awhile so it is my pleasure to review the cover of a new book out by Ross Dreiblatt. The title of the book is I Am Not Brad Pitt and Other Stories and is the first of three riotously absurd tales in Ross Dreiblatt's debut short-story collection sending up America's sometimes-fatal celebrity obsessions.

“I Am Not Brad Pitt” opens in a prison cell in which Mr. Pitt’s clone-like doppelganger, Tobey Crawford, remorsefully recounts the sequence of unlikely events that resulted in his wrongful conviction for murder.

The second story, “Please Allow Me To Introduce Myself,” considers the possibility that Keith Richards (along with, for good measure, Dolly Parton) is, indeed, a vampire. Nobel-Prize laureate Bob Dylan, the story’s vampire-killer, is equipped with more than just a harmonica and tambourine.

The final work in the collection, “Keeping Compliant With The Kardashians,” examines whether Kardashian family members are, in fact, aliens from another galaxy and what precisely is their interest on Earth.

Each of the stories are told with engaging humor, and each pokes fun more at American culture than they do, generally, of the celebrities themselves.

Frankly, not only do I love the title the author gave this book but I also love the cover. Is that Brad Pitt behind the letters or the author? I can't tell but I think the point of covering up part of the face was well played.

It looks to me like this is Ross Dreiblatt's debut into the literary world. What a wonderful start!

❀Book Cover Review❀ THE WITCH OF RATHBORNE CASTLE by Virginia Barlow #BookCoverReview

Okay, do I have a beautiful cover to showcase today or what? This, my dear friends, is Virginia Barlow's striking cover for The Witch of Rathborne Castle. Cute, eh?

This to me screams paranormal. Witches. Wolves. Love the mist at the bottom - quite a nice addition to the cover. Love the title font...very perfect for a book that's a paranormal romance. If I didn't open the book, the cover would automatically tell me that there's a castle and is that red-headed woman a witch? And the wolf must have some kind of symbolism. I absolutely love this cover.

Virginia Barlow is no stranger to writing books. She is not only the author of The Witch of Rathborne Castle, but she also wrote and published Wylder Bachelor, Coconut Macaroon Scandal, A Fallacious Seduction, and The Wicked Sister.

❀Book Cover Review❀ MU: THE GRIMM CASES COLLECTION PART ONE by Lyla Oweds #BookCoverReview

Tada! Another book cover review from moi! Look at this...beautiful cover! This is MU: THE GRIMM CASES COLLECTION PART ONE by Lyla Oweds. Love the gold with the burgundy, but I'm getting ahead of myself - full review below!

Hold on a second...let me see who made this cover. Whoa...independently published. I must email the author to find out who did it because whoever it is surely knew what they were doing. So who is the woman, you suppose? She looks gutsy. An in charge sort of woman. From what I understand, this is a young adult paranormal. Is the woman a ghost? Who is she? From the blurb - "But the spirit haunting my professor’s house is definitely trying to tell me something, and I’m the only one who can see it."  Okay, she must be a ghost seer! Beautiful cover; excellent job goes toward the cover artist.

Lyla Oweds has millions of books out - well maybe not millions but an awful lot. There's Origins, Ghost, Blood, Hidden, and Balance. These all appear to be in the Mu: The Grimm Cases collection. And she has more books! All appear to have beautiful covers so maybe she used the same cover artist?

In summary, Mu definitely deserves my 5 stars!

Book Cover Review: ALEJA UND DIE PIRATINNEN by Maria Kuzniar #bookcoverreview

Are book covers getting better or is it my luck to find another book cover so soon that I just had to feature? Where are the uglies? This one just floats my boat! This is the book cover of ALEJA UND DIE PIRATINNEN by Maria Kuzniar.

Striking! What's not to love? I have some major book cover love going on right now and don't make it stop. Amazing gorgeous and I'm green with envy love!

Another 5 stars!

Book Cover Review: UNWRITTEN by Alicia J. Novo

Back with another book cover review! Just had to feature this one. I'm not even sure where I saw it - Twitter maybe - but I just fell in love with it. The book is titled UNWRITTEN by Alicia J. Novo. It was either just released or getting ready to be.

Stunning absolutely stunning. Visually it's a no brainer that it's one of the prettiest covers I have seen in awhile.

I give it 5 stars!

Book Cover Review: His First Wife's Secret by Emma Robinson

Tada...another book cover review from moi! I just saw this come across the computer so it's either released or gonna be released soon. This is the book cover for His First Wife's Secret by Emma Robinson.

I wanted to spotlight this one today because of something so silly probably but I love how the title is in lower case. The other text not so fond of - not sure if it's the green or the font itself - but the title is just magnificent. And the author's name is in lower case. Actually the bottom of the book cover is what does it for me. And I love the way they have the title one color and the author's name another color and who would have known the two colors would go together so well?

This cover is definitely a 4 out of 5 stars.

Book Cover Review: Last Girls Alive

I don't know why I never thought about doing this before, but eeks I'm about to enter the world of book covers critique. Let me point out that I don't think there are book cover critique experts out there; everyone sees things differently, but I thought I would give it a go with this first one - LAST GIRLS ALIVE by Jennifer Chase.

Oh...drool! For one thing, I love turquoise. It has to be my absolutely favorite color, but let me tell you why I love this cover. The leaf stem over top the book title yet not covering it up. I don't know why more book cover designers don't use this technique; maybe they do but it really adds dimension. The locket I'm figuring it has to have symbolism. Oh crimey I bet it has to do with the last girls alive wherever that might be?

Let me tell you, too - the author Jennifer Chase is no stranger to writing thrillers and mystery novels. Last Girls Alive is the fourth book in the Detective Katie Scott series. The other three in the series include Little Girls Sleeping, Her Last Whisper and Flowers On Her Grave.

She also has another series - The Emily Stone series which include Compulsion, Dead Game, Dark Mind, Dead Burn, Dark Pursuit and Dead Cold.

But, wait there's more. Silent Partner and Body of the Crime. And more which you can check out on Jennifer Chase's Amazon Page. Very prolific author.

This cover is definitely a 5 out of 5 stars.

Book Cover Review: The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow

I am all excited about this cover that I had to stop what I was doing to show you. I have had it saved in my browser all morning to remind me to come over and post this here. This is the cover for The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow.

Now this is one spectacular cover. I think what drew me to this were the different images...all with a story perhaps. You get bored of titles, author's name and a background - give us something more unique. I'm on a hunt for spectacular and horrid book covers...more will be displayed here on this blog in the future.

This cover is definitely a 5 out of 5 stars.
